Silver & Grace FAQs

Silver & Grace FAQs

What is Tallow?

Tallow is a rendered fat. We use only high-quality tallow from 100% grass-fed grass- finished cattle. Our Tallow has been through a rigorous rendering process (cleaned from impurities).  It’s commonly used in cooking, soap making, skincare and candle making.

How is tallow made?

Beef tallow is made by rendering the fat from the meat, which involves a process of melting and purifying it to separate it completely. It undergoes a thorough dry-rendering and double-filtering to ensure maximum purity.

Is tallow safe for skincare?

Tallow is as healthy on your skin as it is to eat! How many of your skincare products can you say that about?

Tallow contains an abundance of nutrients and fatty acids that are highly beneficial for skin wellness. Tallow is a treasure trove of vitamins that not only moisturize and heal, but also promote a radiant and youthful complexion. Tallow is non- comedogenic meaning it effectively balances skin’s natural oils, reducing the likelihood of breakouts/acne and ensuring a consistent and healthy glow. Tallow’s natural collagen-boosting properties enhance skin elasticity, leading to plump and rejuvenated skin. The consistent use of tallow in skincare routines can result in visibly reduced signs of aging, offering a natural alternative to synthetic anti-aging products.

Our Tallow Body Butter is safe and gentle for the whole family!

How should I store my Tallow Body Butter?

I’m sure the first place you think of when storing your beauty products is your bathroom, however this is the one place you should never store your tallow! Tallow should be stored in a cool, dark place, preferably at 70 degrees Fahrenheit. It can be kept at room temperature, but not direct sunlight. Contact with water must be avoided completely: otherwise, mold can grow making it completely unsafe and unusable.
